About Me
Always enamored with a good story, Amy finds inspiration in family history and the lives of others. A native Minnesotan raised by her artist parents, her love of her parents’ wedding album led Amy to her career as a wedding and portrait photographer.
With over 20 years of international and local experience in fine art, wedding and portrait photography, Amy connects easily with people from all walks of life, setting people at ease with a sense of levity, humor and compassionate understanding. She engages her subjects with an open heart and mind, placing a high priority on building a relationship with her clients, and values open communication to gain an understanding of the hopes, desires and aesthetic preferences of the bride and groom for the photographic record of their momentous occasion.
Amy approaches photography as a friend and confidante. Her favorite moments and photos tend to be those of her subjects simply connecting to one as their love and life stories unfold.
Amy combines a flexible and adaptable style with comprehensive knowledge and experience in creative, photojournalistic, contemporary, editorial and classic portrait photography. Her background in music, theater, film, and commercial production lend themselves to her work, as does her experience in interior and graphic design, retail management and administration. In addition, Amy holds a Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Department of Art.
As an artist, Amy continues to be inspired by the intersection of art and the splendor of human experience. She strives to make forms make sense visually and trusts that the story, the poetry, will follow. Since we can’t always be in the together in the places we love, we can at least take the image with us to remember and share with others; Amy’s portrait photography and storytelling passionately capture and preserve these memories of life’s adventure.
